the shadow of my house's chimney reaches to the trees
that sit and sway all through the day waiting for the evening
when the shadow and the roots meet tenderly
and i watch this from my window that is sat above the ground
and some fifteen feet below i hear the soft unhurried sound
of the birds and the beasts and the leaves

now there's the sun that crawls up through the leaves at least once every day
then falls back down without a sound in the prettiest of ways
