Chieftains 02:35
The men from whom I came, were any of them chieftains? The kingly life is fleeting. Just take a look at me. The men from whom I came, were any of them demons? I can’t compel their leaving no matter what I say. Cause I can’t pray them away, these disappointed feelings Of the lifetimes that were leading, leading only to me. The fires burned before I could have seen their Lights cross the fathomless nights or believed in Gods who have cradled our filth. We concede that Life is an arrogant dream. Hope is a future and past far beyond the Turn of the wheel is a cliché response to Loss and the crippling ache of the wanting A peg that has spun out of reach. The men that I will make will any of them see me As a blight within their being, as a shame they can’t erase?

Wake 02:49
When it is over, I’ll meet you there In that same building we used to share. When it is over, I won’t despair. I’ll meet you there, I’ll meet you there. When we were living, I was so calm. But now I’m crawling straight up the walls. When we were living, I don’t recall. It’s not your fault, it’s not my fault. If I am leaving, then let me go. But if I’m staying, welcome me home. This in between is all that I know. May it be so, may it be so.

Hit 03:01
Like an old hit song from the days before, We ain’t nothing special, but we will let them know. Oh, where’d you go? I wanted to though. What is left to see from when we were 16? Another pose rehearsal, another dying scene. Oh, what’ll we be? I cannot believe. I’m not ready to go.

Where We Go 04:12
Now I am fettered. Where have you gone? Think you know better. I’ll search this whole town. I’ll search this whole town til you are found. Why I am roaming, god understands. Same god who put me in this strange land. In this strange land with his old hands. Now they come to take me away. They will decide where we go.

Bedlam 04:26
In a prison cell he dreams of rivers, And through the bars he gently prays. Though my room’s not much bigger, At least I know it’s not my grave. Lately I been out of rhythm, And lord he knows I’ve made mistakes. But I won’t kneel and beg forgiveness. There’s no apology to make. I don’t know how I came here. It’s where I go, not where I been. My dreams are greater than this container. My life is waiting to be lived. If your job is not a jail cell than it’s a means to be set free. For every payday/evening/weekend is the happiness you seek. But there is tyranny in liberty and opportunity. How can a surplus of choice lead us to debt? How can such possibility lead to regret? There are winners and there are losers, and the tally has been set. You only complain of going home. It’s the same folks here every week Getting pissed off at what they’ll never be, Getting stupid on the comforts and the chemicals they seek. They don’t sow, so they’ll never reap. They don’t go, there’s nothing to see. They are waiting. They are waiting for someone to throw them the key. Could it be me?
6.
Afraid 02:36
Hang me a ribbon from post to post to see A frame for our beginning or a finish line to breach. Then show me a villain, paint me a face Of one who is willing to interrupt my place. Then build me a rifle and hand it to me, So I can set my sight on a target so clear. I been lost. Sit down beside me, and hear it from me: How I laid out his body for all of you to see. Take this as a lesson you learn on the first time. May it echo cross the nation til the waters again rise. I been lost. I ain’t afraid of another day. I been lost.
